THE JARGON DECODER
Decoding complex policy terms into plain English so you can focus on making an impact.

📌 Term: Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)

What it actually means:
NDCs are each country’s climate action game plan. Under the Paris Agreement, every nation submits a blueprint outlining how they’ll reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change, based on what they can realistically achieve.

Why it matters:
NDCs are how countries turn climate promises into policy and funding flows often follow. If you’re working on climate, especially at the local or grassroots level, aligning your projects with your country’s NDC can open doors to funding, legitimacy, and partnerships.

Quick tip:
Check out your country’s latest NDC. Find where your work overlaps and speak that language in your proposals, it makes you easier to fund and harder to ignore.
